Tree felling and removal in Bidford-on-Avon

Dead, dangerous, diseased or just in the wrong place. We take trees down safely in any space and remove every last piece.

Safe felling, whatever the size or the space

Felling a tree is the one job you want done right first time. In an open field we can fell straight from the base. In a garden, next to a house, over a conservatory or beside a road, we climb the tree and dismantle it in sections, lowering each piece on ropes so nothing lands where it shouldn't.

Before any saw starts, we check whether the tree is protected by a Tree Preservation Order or sits in a conservation area. If it does, we'll make the application to the council for you.

Once the tree is down, we chip the brash, cut the timber into logs and either leave them for your wood burner or take everything away. We can grind the stump out on the same visit so you're left with a clear, level patch of ground.

When a tree needs to come down

Not sure? Send us a photo and we'll tell you honestly what the tree or hedge needs.

  • It's dead, dying or has a fungal infection such as honey fungus or ash dieback
  • It's leaning, cracked or has been damaged in a storm
  • Roots are lifting paving, damaging drains or threatening foundations
  • It blocks light to the house or garden beyond what pruning can fix
  • It's too big for the space it was planted in
  • You're clearing a plot for building, a new driveway or landscaping
  • A surveyor or insurer has recommended removal

How a felling job runs

  1. 1

    Visit and quote

We look at the tree, the access and what's around it, then give you a written price with no obligation.

  2. 2

    Permissions

We check for TPOs and conservation areas. If consent is needed we apply for it – this can take 6–8 weeks for a TPO.

  3. 3

    The felling

Our team arrives with the right kit. We set up exclusion zones, protect your property and take the tree down in a controlled way.

  4. 4

    Clear up

Brash is chipped on site, timber is logged or loaded, the stump is ground if you've asked for it, and we sweep up before we leave.

Safety, permissions and waste

Felling a protected tree without consent is a criminal offence with fines that can run to £20,000, so we always check first. Trees in a conservation area need six weeks' notice to the council even if there's no TPO. We know how the local planning teams work and we'll deal with them on your behalf.

Every felling is planned with a written risk assessment. Our climbers hold NPTC certificates for chainsaw use, aerial cutting and rescue, and our ropes and harnesses are LOLER-inspected. Timber and brash are recycled – chipped for mulch or biomass and logged for firewood – so nothing goes to landfill.
