Our story
Honesty, integrity and experience
Knights Tree Surgery was started by a time-served tree surgeon with a simple idea: do the work the way it should be done, charge a fair price for it and treat every garden as if it were your own.
That's still how we work. We're an independent, local business based in Bidford-on-Avon, not a franchise. The person who comes to quote is the person who leads the job. We don't sell work you don't need, and if a tree can be saved with a good prune, we'll say so rather than fell it.
Most of our work comes from recommendation – neighbours, friends and customers who come back year after year for their hedges. We'd like to earn yours the same way.

Every job ends with a sweep-up. Brash chipped, logs stacked or gone, drive swept.

We prune to BS 3998 and we'd rather plant a tree than fell one. Good tree work keeps trees healthy for decades.

Qualified, certified and insured
Tree work is regulated for good reason. These are the certificates and cover we hold; ask and we'll show you the documents.
- NPTC / City & Guilds certified Chainsaw maintenance and cross-cutting, felling, aerial cutting and tree climbing
- Aerial rescue certified A trained rescue climber on every climbing job
- Public liability insured Cover in place for every job – certificate on request
- LOLER-inspected kit All climbing and rigging equipment inspected every six months
- Registered waste carrier Green waste taken away and recycled legally
- First aid at work trained Trained first aider on site
Equipment and fleet
The right kit for the job
Good tree work depends on good equipment. We run a 4x4 Land Rover with a towed woodchipper, so we can reach fields, lanes and building sites as easily as a suburban drive. Our tracked stump grinder fits through a standard garden gate and copes with steps and slopes.
Our climbers use modern rope-access systems, rigging kit for lowering heavy sections safely and professional chainsaws that are maintained and sharpened daily. All of it is inspected on a schedule, not just when something looks wrong.
